Hello The World !
I was born in 1958 and I remember the time when I was a kid isolated in a little village.
Now I am still living in this same village and in the same house but thanks to the Internet I have a huge window open on the World.
I am an old chap now, not rich, very lazy, why should I spend my time and my money on the roads ? I am a tutor on Edufire and for the first time in my life I can work not leaving my sweet home. Don't think I never travelled ! I travelled a lot but only for my pleasure or because of necessity. Travelling should exist only for pleasure not for necessity. If you want to learn or to teach online, you can do it now on Edufire. It is only the beginning of a new educational revolution. No blood only fun. Long live this Revolution !

I've used eduFire and think it's fantastic. I received a fully customized, live German lesson for just $15. There's nothing more convenient than getting language lessons while sitting at your desk.

Hi,
I am John Williams. a German and ESL Teacher on Edufire for about a month now. I have taught on a lot of other services and this one is the best by far. We as tutors can advertise for our students and also invite our own students here. The rating service is very fair and the students/teacher can give feed back immediately after the session is over.

Awesome site. Not only is the concept cool (and groundbreaking) but the execution is stellar.

I recently tried live video learning on edufire and found it to be extremely convenient and easy to use. My tutor was great! Love that I can sit on my couch and learn Spanish. I'm also an addict of the Edufire.com flashcard games! Great website and community.

I just don't get it. Video tutoring? That doesn't take advantage of any advances is technology. You're not really improving the education experience.
This sounds like a cheaper way to distribute video lessons. Livemocha is much more advanced in terms of actual learning.

I've used many online language learning tools and this is one of the very best. The fact that you can peruse and choose (very reasonably priced!) tutors is huge and they have some nice language learning software on there too. It's a friendly, helpful, diverse and intelligent community. I like it a lot.

Have you tried Livemocha? There are so many mistakes in their Flash programs, it's pretty appalling. Weeks after complaining about mistranslations and other bugs, nothing was changed. It uses the Rosetta Stone concept of learning through "intuition" but there's no grammar backup and they let any ignorant Joe offer sample "translations" of lesson items, many of which are completely ridiculous. It could be good, but my impression is that they have only one community manager there and the poor young woman isn't able to get many problems fixed. She is nice though.

I have had several tutoring sessions on edufire and must say, it works with my busy Mom schedule. I have been wanting to take Spanish classes for 10 years, since becoming a Mom, and now I don't have any excuses, lol. I love this site, and the community there is friendly and welcoming so I got over my camera fears quickly as well.

I have used just about all the language learning sites and none of them have the community feel like edufire, plus they have flash cards and other cool stuff. Best of all I submitted an idea and it was implemented like 10 days later! I've never even had a reply from other places, let alone that!

Having tried EduFire, I can honestly say that they provide a wonderful product but they are also a really community. We all talk to each other. We get to know each other and discuss what we would like to see on EduFire. The really cool thing is that EduFire actually LISTENS. They are constantly working to improve the site. And the tutors are terrific.

I have taken a lesson at Edufire and thought it was fantastic being able to pinpoint what I needed to review and practice. I also learned what it was like to be the student. It was a friendly experience from a knowledgeable tutor, who could assign me more practice suited to my needs. Other sites aren't as personal, empowering, and comprehensive as Edufire.
As a tutor and a retired teacher in the public school system, I have found my niche...tutoring at Edufire from my home. I still have the freedom to substitute teach and tutor in the areas in which I enjoy instructing.

EduFire is pretty legit. The flash/webcam stuff was surprisingly easy to get started with, and I felt really comfortable talking with a REAL person and not some computer program.
Nice Work.

I am so excited about the upcoming launch of the virtual classroom features and the expansion to other subject areas! I have loved studying with EduFire and the community of the forums. I can't wait for the next roll out to see how even better it is going to get.

excellent excellent site and design. The thing that I love the most is the sense of community in the forums and between tutors and students, keep up the good work!

I have been poking around edufire.com for the past week and have been really impressed with the site. There is so much potential with this kind of learning. I know that my college is starting to do more remote learning over the internet to help people who can't get to them, and this kind of program would work well. I am excited to see what else is up their sleeve.

This looks more promising then some of the other E-Learn technologies that I have seen recently

It does Michael, however there is also www.studentteacherexchange.com which is (new, still quite empty) but free. Interesting to see all kinds of sites popping up now.

Another great site is http://www.linkua.com where many of the teachers offer free classes to the students. The videoconference works great and you can share content and links. All contents are free.

Guys, the idea is really interesting, but a "500 internal server error" will not make me remind me of this brilliant idea!
