mEgo can take profile data from Facebook (about me, photos, friends) and combine it with my other accounts and tastes and give me a product - something that I can actually touch and feel and control. What a breath of fresh air.

i hadn't seen this one yet - it's interesting...my prediction is that out of all these pitches this one stands the best chance. Despite the fact that it's not targeted at viewers of techcrunch blog. It's a product that's going to take off with the teenage girls first and then spread up. who ever thought that we'd all be using facebook and myspace.

It's refreshing to see a woman pitch - and she's not bad. The product seems to have some promise. It will probably be more interesting to my kids than me unless they can make a version that is more focused on utility.

these comment sections are too short: Continued: This app seems to be a pre-curser to true data portability, although ironically this cute little app may stand a chance to bridge the gap between where we are today and tomorrow's real data porability if it can capture enough users who want to affiliate their 'owned' profile with the brand mEgo. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

Clearly, this is an example of a company gaming the system. Serious VC's, investors and observers do not sound like infomercial audience members when posting. TC needs to fix this - and mEgo needs to realize they lost a lot of credibility by pulling off this stunt.

Guys - we did send out this link to friends of mEgo.com and they put a zillion comments on here. I'm sorry it sounds so staged - the underlying sentiment is that these are fans of ours and want everyone to love our app. I am sure that time will show the general populations consensus, and hopefully it will be positive! We are an honest, earnest, hard working bunch. And, we are very thankful for the support we have had. Thanks for understanding.

anyone know how they're doing? i went to their site and noticed that they're doing a contest for adidas - http://adidas.com/missy - interesting concept, i'd love to know how it's doing. i guess it's the concept of cross-network campaigning?

Is creating a new profile really that much of a burden? It's annoying, but I very very very rarely create a new account somewhere requiring a profile to be set up.
